A diverse range of work from large format photography, printed garments, interactive wallpaper, sound installations and floral designs produced by over 400 students across the College will feature in the show, which is open to the public and free of charge from Friday 17 until Wednesday 22 June 2011.

If you’re planning on visiting the show, here’s a pictorial guide of what’s exhibiting and where you can find it.

Repeat Pattern Printing in the Surface Design

In the Galleries on the Third Floor of the Workshop Block you can find work by our FdA and BA Surface Design students. On private view night there will be live repeat pattern screenprinting (pictured above) and at 7pm and 8pm there will be a performance titled, ‘Dancing Canvas’ courtesy of BA student Clara Shephard.  ”The idea behind the work is to create a moving painting,” says Clara. She has pained a seven metre by five metre canvas upon which 10 dancers will perform.

ABC Photography

Approximately 80 ABC Photography students will exhibit in the Upper Street (pictured above) all the way through to the Well Galleries. Look out for work by Stuart Howat, Nicette Makkinga, Ross Paxton, David Sessions and Nicola Taylor.

ABC Diploma Graphic Design

Over 60 designers from the ABC Diploma Graphic Design (pictured above) are showcasing their design projects in the Lower Street Gallery.

Finally, don’t forget to look out for the Shop (turn right as you enter LCC and keep walking past the multi-coloured chairs) where we’ll be selling student work and Round About Ts. Enjoy the Show!

Day 2: Pitch/Play

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Images by Ana Escobar

Battle commenced last night as teams of staff and students took part in the mass Pitch/Play paper fight. Each alliance revealed their strategy – for some it was attack, for others it was defence. Course groups from areas including Graphic Design, Surface Design, Floral Design, Games Design and Creative Advertising Strategy participated and afterwards the floor was scattered with paper objects which collectively formed a stunning scene.

Prizes were awarded to teams with the most innovative response to the Pitch/Play – BA Graphic and Media Design scooped first prize and Floral Design came second.

A panel debate with invite guests followed the battle. Earlier in the day, games guru Sir Ian Livingstone also paid a visit to talk about themes surrounding the event.
