LCC has something new to Smile about

Jo Kotas, alumnus of BA Graphic and Media Design at LCC, launched Smile for London this week at The Museum of London.

Smile’s ‘creative intermission’ aims to beat the January blues with a showcase of film, art and animation broadcast on CBS Outdoor digital screens across London’s station platforms between 17 January and 28 January 2010.

Submissions for the project were selected by Jeremy Boxer of Vimeo, LCC alumnus Neville Brody of Research Studios, Shane Walter of onedotzero, author Stephen Bayley and Creative Review’s Gavin Lucas.

Jo Kotas and Alex Stevens, co-founders of the Smile for London project, said:

“This is a hugely exciting project for us. We want to celebrate the creative talents of our city and at the same brighten the journeys of London’s commuters. Our ambition is to send people to work with a smile and gather as much support for the campaign as we can.”

Screenings are taking place on CBS Outdoor platform screens at Liverpool St, Camden, Euston, Holborn, Oxford Circus, Moorgate, Paddington, Victoria, Piccadilly Circus, Paddington and Waterloo.
